  • How do I register a company in Cyprus?

Company registration in Cyprus is handled by the Registrar of Companies in Nicosia. A lawyer prepares and submits the founding documents. Before registration, you'll need to decide on a company name, business activities, shareholders, and directors. Once the name is approved and registration fees are paid, the shareholder signs the Memorandum and Articles of Association, and a director and company secretary are appointed.

  • How long does it take to register a company, and what is the minimum share capital?

The standard registration timeframe is 14–21 business days after document submission. For a Private Company Limited by Shares (LTD), the typical share capital is €1,000. There is no legal requirement to deposit this capital into a bank account during registration.

  • What are the benefits of having a company in Cyprus?

Cyprus offers low corporate tax (12.5%) and no dividend tax. Companies are simple to manage, and you may act as both shareholder and director or use professional fiduciaries. Cyprus is an EU member, so income earned through a Cyprus company is recognized globally as legitimate and transparent.

  • What are my responsibilities as a company owner in Cyprus?

Annually, you must submit audited financial statements and a corporate tax return. If you hire employees, you'll also be responsible for reporting and paying social insurance and income tax. If your company is VAT-registered, quarterly VAT returns are required.

  • How do I buy real estate in Cyprus?

Before purchase, our legal team conducts due diligence to confirm there are no restrictions on the property. A purchase agreement is signed, then registered with the Tax Department and the Land Registry. The seller must provide tax clearance, and the buyer must pay transfer fees or VAT. Property can also be acquired by purchasing shares in a company that owns the property.

  • How is property ownership confirmed in Cyprus?

Ownership is confirmed by a Title Deed issued by the Land Registry after the sale is completed and all obligations are fulfilled.

  • What is the IP Box regime in Cyprus?

The IP Box regime offers a reduced corporate tax rate of 2.5% on profits from qualified intellectual property. This regime primarily benefits IT companies earning income from royalties, software licenses, patents, and similar IP assets.

  • How do I register a trademark in Cyprus?

You can register a unique wordmark or logo as a trademark in Cyprus if it is not confusingly similar to existing marks. You can apply for local registration or EU-wide protection through EUIPO, which covers all EU member states, including Cyprus.
